TVH Parts, a leader in replacement parts and accessories for the material handling and industrial equipment industries, has selected Cat dealer Foley Power Solutions to supply a 1 MW rooftop solar system for the company’s Americas headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. TVH has grown to become one of the most respected names in the material handling and industrial equipment industries. CLIENT: TVH Parts
LOCATION: Olathe, Kansas
PRODUCT USED: 1 MW Rooftop Solar System
TVH executives expect the system to save more than $110,000 annually in energy costs, while supporting a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of nearly 3.5 million lbs. in the first year. Over the next 25 years, the system is expected to contribute to more than 79 million lbs. in reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
This month, the solar rooftop installation at TVH was recognized with a Gold Award in the Kansas City Industrial Council’s annual Sustainability Award program.
“Foley and Cromwell have had a successful business relationship and worked with several industrial customers like TVH,” said James Kerschinske, sales manager at Foley Power Solutions. “Businesses are looking at ways to control their utility costs and improve their energy resiliency, and solar is one way to do this.”
TVH’s new warehouse expansion showcases extensive energy-saving measures throughout the interior of the facility as well. A new LED lighting system will consume roughly 75% less energy while lasting significantly longer when compared with traditional fluorescent lights. Water-conserving fixtures will decrease waste, while new energy-saving HVAC controls and equipment will allow for more consistent temperatures at a more efficient rate.
“As the world’s largest enterprises expand their sustainability initiatives, Caterpillar and the Cat dealer network are poised to deliver the advanced technologies and deep application expertise that support our customers’ operational needs while improving the business case for environmentally friendly programs,” said Bart Myers, general manager for Caterpillar Large Electric Power Solutions.
